History

Unity Learning Academy began as Andrew Jackson Elementary in 1957. Due to some of the controversial actions of President Jackson, it was decided that the school could change its name. Many ideas about a new name were garnered from our past and present students, parents, teachers, and community partners. Most people liked the name Unity because it exemplified the character they attributed to our community. Soon our name would become Unity Learning Academy!
