Kelly Tomlinson has ben selected as the 2022-2023 Unity Learning Academy Teacher of the Year!
This is Kelly's seventh year working at Tulsa Public Schools and her third year at Unity. She started working at the school as a parent involvement facilitator before becoming an art teacher last year.
"I have always loved kids! When mine were grown, I was ready to start working again full time," said Kelly. "I spent five years as a parent facilitator. My former principal always encouraged me to teach. When the art position opened up at Unity, I jumped on it! I have loved every minute of it."
Kelly said her favorite part of the job is seeing how excited kids are when they complete a project they are proud of -- and the hugs!
"Unity is such a special school community. I love the small, family atmosphere and really getting to know the kids and their families."
